Review of Blood of the Mazzaroth by Eric Eichinger

Blood of the Mazzaroth by Eric Eichinger is an exciting tapestry woven from astrology, theology, mythology, and an overspray of romance and framed beautifully in a modern police investigation.

This fast paced thriller keeps your brain engaged with the clues and your heart engaged with the characters. There is plenty of action and romance, but nothing that is too heavy handed. This is an engaging story that challenges your brain to understand the clues, the biblical references, and the celestial connections, which are all blended in a fresh, fascinating, impressionistic artistic style. Eichinger is changing the landscape in the genre of action-packed thrillers.

The police are investigating a murder reminiscent of the historical Zodiac murders that riveted the nation and taunted the police investigators.

A business card found on the most recent murder victim leads the detectives directly to the office of Rev. Dr. Chase Fischer, a renowned professor of ancient history, pastor of the Church of the Epiphany, and a motorcycle-riding, free-spirited, rather hunky, biblical scholar. As additional murders are connected, a terrifying pattern begins to emerge, and the detectives recognize that Dr. Fischer may be the expert that they need to solve this puzzle.

An unorthodox alliance is formed, and Dr. Fischer joins the investigative team, earning his newest title of Volunteer Pastor to the LAPD. Dr. Fischer assists the team in interpreting the clues from the serial killer, and an unexpected attraction to one of the lead investigators, the lovely, young Detective Jade, develops. Together, Dr. Fischer and Detective Jade become not just part of the investigative team but also part of the murderers’ macabre plan.

Surprises await the team, and with each clue, the horror ratchets higher, culminating in the action-to-the-last-second ending that readers will love.
