Thoughts on Prognosis Critical
The first time I read a medical thriller was this last week. And I am very glad I chose this author Gary Birken and his new book Prognosis Critical to be my first foray into the genre.
It was easy to get lost in and I had no trouble following along with his writing style. I liked how he followed a doctor and wove in the medical situations and terminology. It made it seem natural and easy to follow. Which I appreciated very much!
The Suspense in this story was high. I loved the adrenaline and how Gary Birken used science to catapult my imagination. It was everything I love about thrillers with mystery suspense and a hint of romance too!
Overall the plot piqued my interest from the beginning and I so enjoyed the moral dilemmas he placed upon his characters. It made the story that much more believable.
The characters were very well laid out with good depth and some great twists and turns.
I think anyone who enjoys mysteries, suspense, or thrillers will enjoy reading this one.
